“What are the best conversation starters for online dating?”

Here’s my advice to my clients when they start a conversation online.

• Give them a sincere compliment — Compliment them and make them feel good about themselves. Just make sure it’s genuine and not too over-the-top.
• Ask about their hobbies — Find out what they’re interested in, or anything they like to do in their free time.
• Ask about their day — This is a simple question, but it shows that you’re interested in their life and what they’ve been up to.
• Share something about yourself — By sharing something about yourself, you’re giving them the opportunity to get to know you better. It may also encourage them to do the same.
• Ask about their dreams in life — Find out what their goals are, if they have any, or anything they hope to achieve in the future. This shows that you’re interested in their aspirations and this may even lead to a deeper conversation about their values and beliefs.

Don’t forget that the key to a good conversation is to ask open-ended questions and actively listen to what the other person has to say.

Avoid asking yes or no questions that can lead to dead-end conversations. And most importantly, be yourself and have fun!
