If you want peace for yourself, it’s best to forgive them. However, doing so will take time.
Nevertheless, forgiving someone doesn’t mean taking them back or continuing the relationship as if nothing happened.
You can forgive them for hurting you, but dealing with the consequences of the affair is another story.
Are they sorry for what they did? Is the relationship still worth keeping? Is it worth staying friends with someone who has betrayed you?
These questions will determine how you will move forward from this incident. After all, it would be nearly impossible to keep the same relationship and friendship after such an offense.
It will be better for you to distance yourself and heal. If needed, cut them off from your life completely. It won’t be easy, but eventually, this will be vital for you to move on.
